St. Paul’s Episcopal Church will mark the beginning of the Lenten Season with a special Ash Wednesday service. on March 6 at 7:00 p.m. There will be the Imposition of Ashes (a sign of our mortality) and Holy Eucharist (a sign of Christ’s presence). All are welcome.

Single Again Latin Jazz The Single Again group will be holding an afternoon of Jazz at the Hopkinton Public Library January 5 from 1:15 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. All are welcome to attend this event, which will feature a two hour program donated by Jim Benitez, the celebrity disc jockey for LATIN JAZZ NOW! on WICN Radio, a national public radio station. Blue Christmas Service, December 23 at 5:00 p.m. For many people, Christmas can be a difficult time and a painful reminder of what has been lost. For those dealing with financial strain, depression, grief, or illness, the holidays can be anything but happy. To acknowledge this sadness and loneliness, we are once again having a special non-denominational “Blue Christmas” Service. This service will include readings, candle lighting and silence and will focus on the hope and healing God offers to each one of us. All are welcome, so please share this with anyone you think might benefit from such a service.
Rummage Sale October 13 St. Paul's Fall Rummage Sale will be held in the Parish Hall on October 13 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Donations can be dropped off at the Parish Hall on Thursday, October 11 from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., and on Friday, October 12 from noon to 7:00 p.m. Please do not drop off TVs, microwaves, PCs, or air conditioners or items that are stained, broken or ripped.

Sunday Service on January 7 Cancelled Due to the dangerous and frigid temperatures forecast for Sunday, we have decided to cancel the 10:00 a.m. service in the interest of parishioner safety. We invite you to sit down at 10:00 a.m., picture St. Paul’s church and our church family, and pray together. The Organ Redemption Day scheduled for January 6 has also been cancelled due to the weather. It will be rescheduled for a later date.
Candlelight Christmas EveService 6:00 p.m. St. Paul’s Episcopal Church invites all of its neighbors and friends to attend its 6:00 p.m. Candlelight Christmas Eve service to honor the birth of Our Lord. On Sunday, October 29, the Right Reverend Alan M. Gates will be celebrating the Eucharist at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church during the 10:00 a.m. service. Bishop Gates was born in Springfield, Mass. and holds a Master of Divinity degree from the Episcopal Divinity School in Cambridge, Mass. He was ordained to the priesthood in 1988. Prior to the seminary he was a Russian language translator, researcher, and intelligence analyst for the U.S. Department of Defense.
Blessing of the Animals October 8 One day a year St. Paul’s goes to the dogs …and cats….and gerbils…and other furry friends and this year, Sunday, October 8 is that special day. In honor of the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi, we will be hosting a special “blessing of the animals” immediately before the service. All animals (please leash dogs and properly contain other pets) are welcome to stay for the service. If you are unable to bring a loved pet, a photograph will suffice. There will also be a special memorial prayer for those pets who have passed in the past year.
A Short Introduction to Islam for Christians begins September 17 Do Muslims worship the same God as Christians? What does Islam teach about Jesus? Can Muslims and Christians pray together? These are some of the questions that will be addressed by Mona Ives of the Worcester Islamic Center during a five-week Christian Formation class being held in the Parish Hall at 11:30 a.m., beginning on September 17. The class is free and open to the public, so feel free to bring any friends or neighbors you think might find this important topic of interest.
Single Again Meeting September 15 The next meeting of the Single Again group will be held at the parish hall on September 15 at 7:00 p.m., and will include a discussion on what to do with the $2,000 grant money Single Again has received from the Diocese as well as the usual opportunity to share, support and pray together. All singles are welcome, no matter the church affiliation.
